Today
With a twinkle in her eye
And a breathless sigh
She knew that today
Was the day to say goodbye
It was time to spread her wings
And leave behind her childish things
Leave behind her childish ways
The carefree days
Of a teenager at play
The table that held her dolls
And then her Barbies
Her make up
And then her car keys
Would go with her
On this day that she said goodbye
Forever remaining
The apple of her Mum’s eye

My daughter started kindergarten last week, so this one hits me a little harder lol
Nicely written 🙂
Thank you Joseph.
Kindergarten is definitely a milestone! Time sure does fly, remember to give her lot’s of hugs and squeezes!
Everyday & every moment. Her cheeks are worn out 😉
