Want to see a major shift in your life? Try replacing “I’m sorry” with “Thank you”.

I don’t know if it’s an over all Canadian thing….being from the land of bumping into car doors and apologizing… lol but some how I became that “I’m sorry” person. It came as a surprise to me as most of my younger life you’d be hard pressed to hear me apologize for anything. But eventually I chose to learn about both accountability and forgiveness. But here’s the thing, sometimes we can end up swaying too far and become over accountable.
But too much apologizing also leads to a negative mindset of self…a self blame mentality…and even a hyper focus on self.
Replacing such statements as;
“I’m sorry I’m late”…with “Thank you for waiting”
“I’m sorry I couldn’t attended the event” with “Thank you for understanding why I couldn’t attend the event.”
Or when someone says “I’m sorry”….to then say I’m sorry too ….replace it with “Thank you for apologizing.”
This will really create a shift in energy and how you see yourself and even more so how others see you. You inevitably replace a negative with a positive and make space for larger sense of gratitude….and that gratitude will shift so much around you.
These things are subtle but it is the very subtleties in life that have the power to create the biggest shifts….they are ultra fine and hard to define, that’s why they are so important to refine.
I really love the principle of #gratitudeistheattitude so much so that I’ve designed some products that reflect this theme. If you’d like to check it out you can blow at our Etsy shop CloserLivesEmporium
