The leaves are falling
And so are my tears
Knowing all of the years
I’ve had with her
Will soon change
Into another season.

Out of sorrow for seeing summer go?…
Both the summer and my daughter who will be going to university next year… 🙂
Ah, the words flow well and I could sense they connected to something deep. I’m a dad, but mine are youngins’ still. Not ready yet for some of the transitions life brings along.
Enjoy it while they are young. Time certainly does fly by. She will always be my baby girl.. 🙂
Thanks, I sure am!
I know that feeling well
Autumn will pass. And it’s always fun to look forward to what’s coming. It won’t be long and it’ll be summer. 🙂
I can dig it been there as well. Brilliant use of Autumns emotion with personal melancholy…
Thank you. 🙂
In Texas it’s hard to have tears in autumn because the temperatures finally cool enough to bring about smiles. 🙂
I bet! I’m sure it gets quite hot there! 🙂
Indeed! P.S. Great poem!
Thank you. 🙂
ah, it is a sad turn, but everything to its season, and they both will return even better than when they left you last. hugs )
Thanks for the kind words and support 🙂
Not spoke for a while-we’ve been journeying for a while now Writing Sofa Mrs 🙂 Still enjoying your stuff.
Thank you Andy. I’m happy to hear that! How was your summer?
Summer was good. Didn’t holiday this year-there is an economic downturn you know! But had lots of days out. And the weather was better than last Year’s washout. And now we are in my favourite half of the year.
How was yours?
Nice. The spare, full beauty in these lines are fantastic.
Thank you so much. I appreciate it 🙂
Beautiful raw emotion.
Beautiful! The seasons change many times as our babies grow up into adults. It will be a new season, but hopefully it will create a new depth in your relationship with her. I imagine you must be so proud of her, even as you long for the younger years.
Absolutely. She is such a wonder to me 🙂
Parenting. There is nothing better 🙂
Beautiful poem and a wonderful dedication to your daughter!
Thank you Jack 🙂
