Bubble Gum Love
Way back when
I was young and free
No cares on who to be
but yours
Believing love alone could open the doors
to me
Back when I was young and free
No cares on who to be
but yours
You were the brightest colored bubble gum
you kept me chewing rhythmically
like a drum
Yum
Blowing the biggest of bubbles
until my jaw hurt from the troubles
I loved you then
way back when
I was young and free
with no cares on who to be
but yours.
Love it! Sweet and fun.
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it! π

Effortless but beautiful. I adore poetry but I’m no good at it.
Thank you. It was fun to write!
It sounded fun.
Hi Jennifer, I just discovered you late at night because I was up writing. I love what you are doing here and will be back after some zzzz
Thank you! I look forward to your return…sweet dreams!
Did that once as a child and got the bubble-gum stuck in my hair when the bubble burst. My mother was furious; my hair had to be cut; I ended up in tears. Never was tempted to chew the stuff again, but always admired those who managed to blow bubbles with panache.

Thats lovely, yet opens a bitter feeling within for me
Fun to read. Fun to remember when . . .
Bubble gum IS lots of fun. My teeth are too far gone now to chew. Enjoy it while you can. Great poem!
nice article
This was great fun, and reminded me (in a weird but good way) of a blog post I did awhile ago about gum: http://rangeleymoose.wordpress.com/2011/01/25/the-gum-diet/ .
Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for this poem. It’s funny, quite unpredictable and very powerful in its simplicity (for me, the bubble gum is a metaphor for Another…) I really like it π
I love metaphors. Not everyone gets them though π
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Cheers.
Light-hearted and sincere–in a funny double-bubble way.
Nice and sweet. wink* Thanks for dropping by and for the “like” I bet you were blessed.xo
