A Series of Poems on The Senses: The Poetry of Sound
The poetry of sound
Lingers all around
The wind in my ears
The crashing waves
The faint cry of a seagull
The distant hum of a motor boat
The many mumbled languages spoken around me
French, English, Chinese
The bell from the harbor
The squeaky squeal of a wobbly stroller passing by
The wind whistling through the leaves
Should somehow be deafening in it’s entirety
Yet it soothes my soul
Senses intensified

Sounds are of and within the human spirit…
Indeed they are!
Lovely collection of images. I enjoyed reading this, Jennifer.
Thank you Teagan. I’m glad that you enjoyed it 🙂 There will be more to come!
I have a fine poet friend who is a synthesis and writes all his poetry (which is outstanding) to music.
Nice, that sounds awesome. I’d love to hear it!
Well written – it doesn’t just awaken the ears but the imagination as well.
On another note:
I have just nominated you for the Super Sweet Blogger Award. It is my first and I have so enjoyed your blog and wanted to pass the love along your way. You can read all about it and accept your award at the link – hope you have a super sweet week.
