Update: Community, ‘Storetry’, Twitter, Facebook & the Summer Solstice
Hey everybody.
I want to let everyone know that this upcoming week there will be no Storetry due to vacation time *YaY* but it will return the following week July 2nd so keep an eye out for it. Thank you to everyone that has participated so far. I really love reading all of the submissions and piecing it all together. It is a definite highlight of my week. I am looking forward to publishing the ebook!
My Twitter account reached 500 followers today. Thank you all! I think it’s fantastic. 2 weeks ago it was at 230. I am really pleased to be connecting with you all and many others on different platforms. We are pulling the community together and expanding it as well.

My FB page could use some love. I’ve only recently started to give FB some attention. I really like this platform because I can chat and communicate with you all easier. Wow – are you on summer break already? We have another month yet. When do they go back to school?
Their last day is next Wed. So June 26th they return to school Sept. 7th ish usually. 🙂 How is it in the UK?
You have a really long holiday compared to us. We finish on 23rd July and then we’re back on 3rd September. Do you have half terms and things as well? 🙂
The kids have 2 weeks off over the Christmas break and one week of in March for March break.
Other wise they have full time days Mon. – Friday 9:00-3:00
Oh, I guess that’s where it’s different then. We get a half term week every term and the there’s two weeks at Christmas and usually two at Easter as well. 🙂
How many terms? 2? What is a half term week? Half days or only attend for half of the week? How long are your days?
There are also 6 teacher related days off for the students during the school year.
We have three terms, July – Dec, Jan – Apr and Apr – July. Each term is approximately 16 weeks so we get one week off halfway through which is what the half term is. So each half term is usually 7 or 8 weeks and then we get a week off. In the summer we have 5 weeks off and at Christmas and Easter it is 2 weeks. The days are from 9am – 3.30pm although at my youngest’s specialist school they are slightly longer. And then we have 5 ‘training’ days a year that can be taken as well. Gosh – sounds like we’re off more than we’re there!! Lol 🙂
